Has anyone ever had these before...im just surfing the net..and came across some for sale...safe to say that they probably get pretty big....im just curious is all
I have a shoal of 9 silver dollars. I think they're a great fish. They're like vegetable piranhas! They can be a little skittish with sudden movements but, in my experience, aren't as skittish as other sources suggest but that could be because of the size of my shoal.
They're quite an entertaining fish to watch and have appetites which almost beat my oscar. Mine have become quite tame and will eat food from my hand.
Silver Dollars get to be about 6-8", they enjoy shoaling so I'd recommend keeping a minimum of 6 together, this not only makes them less shy, but also more confident. In my experiences, Silver Dollars enjoy swimming space, I'd recommend no less than a 120 gallon tank for them...
