have the following Angelfish in my tank:

1 x black
1 x koi
1 x silver

the black and koi mind their own business, but the silver ... well ... that's another story  . he seems to go for the koi quite a lot (as in charging at him, nipping at him) and the black but not as much.

I buy from a reputable fish supplier and they never mentioned anything about the silver being slightly more aggressive than the other two. are silver's normally like this or is it just mine?

how big is the tank as cichlids may get territorial if theres not enough space. its down to temperament as well, some angels are nastier than others. i have a gold marble thats doing the same thing. is he the biggest?

to be honest I think the Koi is slightly bigger, black is smallest. it's a Rio 180 so although it's not a massive tank it's not tiny either. even as I'm sitting typing this I can see him going for the black one ... and now the koi ... he just head butted the koi :/ .

territory thing crossed my mind, but if he never gives them peace i might have to think about removing him ...

do you have another tank you could put him in for a few days? banning him from the tank and then reintroducing him a few days later may give the others the advantage. you could try rearranging the tank, and if that fails then you may need to swap him for another one, but make sure the newcomer is of the same size roughly as the other two.

Color has nothing to do with aggressivness, nor does size once they are mature. The only time it may make any difference with the silvers is if they were wild caught, or had a large percentage of wild blood in them.

It could be territorial, or spawning behavior
