i bought 2 gouramis a few days ago and now ones got weird white lumps on it.it dousnt look like white spot to me and i have no idea what it is. anyone know??? pic below hopefully itll be usefull but wilson (the gourami) is still quite shy (probably because its ill) so its difficult to get good pics. xx

he also has a few very small ones on his dorsal fin but u cant see them on this pic x
 
really need help. dont want it to spread to my other fish and i really dont want him(i say him but really have no idea) to die.
 
Hi there

Yes, it is a "him" - females are a different colour to the males - they tend to be a silvery grey with blue bits in them if I remember correctly.

It's hard to tell from the photo exactly what is wrong with your gourami but I do know that gouramis are prone to ulcers and growths, especially in the head region. I had one for a few years that developed the growth on its head early on - I treated it with Myxazin I think and the growth did disappear. It reappeared some months later so I treated again and it seemed to cure it again.

Not sure if that's any help to you but without clearer pics it's hard to suggest a precise treatment. If the above sounds like the same thing as on your Gourami then try the Myxazin but make sure you measure the doses correctly (and try not to get it on your fingers as it stains and it's a nightmare to wash off LOL)

thanks. that does sound like it. its starting to look sore now too. do i treat the whole tank or just wilson?? and can i pick this treatment up at the pet store?? xx
