I have a betta that is in a mixed tank, we have recently lost a couple of guppies but now the betta looks sick. It is bloated, off its food and looks like it has lost it's balance, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Water chemistry is good and the water was partially change at th eweekend.

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Are scales sticking out.
What do you feed your fish.
What does it look like when your fish go to the toilet.
Check the anus to see if its enlarged or red and inflamed.

Epson salt baths to draw the fluids out.
Feed some shelled peas and no over foods.
Bacterial med.

scales are not sticking up, unfortunately we don't have the facilities to set up a hospital tank, but we have separated him in a small bowl with tank water in it.
We put in some interpet swim bladder treatment and given him some pea, which I don't think he has eaten, but this morning he is just lying on the bottom listless, but still breathing.
I don't think his bottom is swollen and he has not recently been to the toilet.

Remove the uneaten peas.
You can try this procedure but don't feed for two days.
Wrap the fish in a cloth soaked in tank water and add a drop of cod liver oil to the mouth.

The swim bladder med will only work if its a bacterial infection of the swim bladder.

What do you normally feed the fish.

They are fed on flakes, but unfortunately it has died.

Bless him.
