are there any tropical shrimps for my 50g tank 2nd in signature if so what fish can they be kept with and how big do they get also what do you feed them and what type of characters are they

there are galss shrimp, and brime shrimp, but brime shrimp is a feeding type. glass shrimp make good fo community tanks but not with agressive or cornivores.

Ive been considering if i could add a couple of shrimps to my tank too, i almost decided to go with marine tank so i could have invertibrates but decided against it on my first attempt.

I wanted something to clean the bottom of my tank which i heard they made a great clean up crew, also the fact to me they seem so facsinating.

Ive been contemplating Ghost shrimp, from what ive read so far others in this forum have them but i was a little unsure about thier actual tank setup.

I know nothing about salt water tanks, but I also know very little about shrimp, I'm not to interested in them, mabey anouther person can help. sorry.

You could always try for a cameroon armoured shrimp or also a wood fan shrimp.

Both of these are filter feeders and pretty unusual too.

I love having shrimp in the tank. My daughter has 4 ghost shrimp in her 10g. They are cheap, .29 cents US at the local pestmart. They just eat whatever falls to the floor. One is actually so tame it will come to the surface and eat flakes from her hand. I have amano shrimp in my planted tank They cost a bit more about $3.00 per shrimp. They are great little guys. They are always on the go either hunting for food or grooming themselves. I say go for it shrimp are a great addition to any tank they are also surprisingly long lived. Ghost shrimp can live to be 10 years old.

i have added 2 freshwater shrimp to my tank just today. i was told they are very hardy and excellent for any tank, they certainly seem to have personalities, quite amusing to watch...

How long have you had amano shrimps in your tank? From what I hear, they might like brakish water more. Will they live for years in 100% fresh water with no additional salt?

I've had the amano shrimp for about 3 mo. I've never heard that the were brackish. They are doing great, they are getting huge. They shed their whole skeleton as they grow. Really cool little guys.
