I've been just getting into Neo's and now have 4 different tanks, each with a different color breeding colony... my newest are my orange neo's, that went into a tank, that wasn't great... it previously had my yellow acara in it, as a holding tank... the tank was too small and not set up for an acara, but he didn't play well with others, so while not an ideal tank for him, it was necessary to move him... it's plants were thriving, but the tank was full of mulm, I couldn't really vacuum out, with a sand bottom... in the couple weeks that the orange shrimp have been in the tank , the mulm has decreased significantly, the water has cleared, and the tank is starting to look pretty good... I have, and had been doing water changes, it was just hard to remove the mulm, that a medium sized cichlid created, being stuck in a 10 gallon aquarium, with sand on the bottom...

I have a group of cherries firmly established in my Hillstream tank... the shrimp benefits aren't noticed as much in that tank, as there is no mulm accumulation, and almost all the fish being biofilm eaters...

but I have had Armano shrimp in my African Tetra tank for years... as those shrimp are now all old, I'll begin replacing them with colored neo's, and hope to get a colony of more color, established in that tank as well...

I had about 15 Amano in my tank. Many died and I think I have only about 5 or 6 left. I want to add more since I got my tank issues under control.
