My platies are flicking themselves off the gravel and stuff last time they started this it was whitespot. So far no spots of any other signs so shall i treat now or wait til spots come up and I'm certain what it is?
I know why they have it as my male swordtail is chasing them and stressing them out. Some fish look depressed fins down and sitting still but only the platies are flicking.
I put some anti stress stuff in there and most of them perked up except my platies.

Yes I'd treat now, whitespot can be hard to shift so it's better to treat sooner not later.

If it's the tank from your sig with cory's in be careful treating though, they can be very sensitive to the treatment and it could do more harm than good. I've some meds at home that are suitable for use with cory's, can't remember the name though, I'll check when I get home and let you know. :)

I have the stuff i used ;last time and the cory didnt seem to be affected so I'll use that again. Thanks for your reply

Thanks cleared up pretty quickly last time so lets hope it'll do the same this time will the treament affect Synodontis aterrimus (catfish) he's new and wasn't here last time i treated the tank?

all catfish can be sensitive to some of the ingredients in white spot meds....... the one I've used is part malachite and part formaldehyde and that's been fine...... if you have one that's just malachite only use a half dose or take the catfish out while you treat the tank (although obviously there's a chance they're also infected just not showing signs of disease yet and then you'd re-infect the tank if you put them back in)

malachite green, acriflavine and quinine sulphate are the ingredients but as my cory didnt suffer then maybe the other catfish will befine too?
