Ian's got a theory about something like this. he reckons women flushing their pills so they deliberatley get up the duff lead to high estrogen levels in the water which in turn either led to more girls being born or to blokes not being as manly anymore (can't remember which, it's a long time since that drunken rant )

Drunken rant indeed. Though the fish and estrogen link is disturbing, it's far from proven and not necessarily going to happen. Humans are more complex and the link between the estrogen and "less manly men" is even more tenuous. The truth is that culture has a lot to do with that as well as other factors.
