So I dropped a shrimp pellet in for my 4 Cories, but my Secerum saw it first and swam away with it... I didn;t think this was a big deal, and I do feed lightly - I feed flake or bloodworms evey other day, 1 algae pellet a week for Pleco, and 2 sinking shrimp pellets a week. Well, I looked and my Severum looks VERY bloated. It is acting normal, but I don't want anything to go wrong. Water stats I don't think are necessary, but I'll provide them...

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
PH - 7.1
Nitrate 20ish

have you fed him peas?
if not try it, boil and cool them, then squish them in your fingers, he may be constipated

How large is the severum? How large are the pellets, not large enough I would imagine to cause any kind of blockage. To be honest, it doesnt sound like you are feeding him enough. He needs at least once a day (I feed mine twice a day) a good quality pellet (Hikari, doromin), then treats of bloodworm, prawn, shrimp, black worms etc. Peas, lettuce, cucumber will also readily be nibbled on. Mine will also eat algae tablets (makes a right mess I can tell ya), shrimp pellets, so I doubt that would cause yours a problem unless its gotten stuck somewhere in his quickness to get it.

Have you seen him go to the toilet (poo) since he has eaten it? How does it look if you have? You can try to feed as Shelagh suggested some cooked shelled peas, which he should happily take.

How is he behaving? What size tank, other tankmates and how long have you had him?

Ps, Thanks Shelagh :)

Good news, he is back to normal size now. :) But I will answer questions...
He (well, I'm not sure of gender) is pretty small right now, like 2 1/2 inches. I am getting a larger tank in the future (saving up!) but he is currently housed in a 20 gallon. All tankmates are peaceful - 3 Bleeding Hearts, 3 Serpaes, 1 Angelfish, 1 Pleco, and 4 Cories. And I did see him poop normally.

The pellets are just a little bigger in size than like... a lentil?

Here are the foods I give my fish

For Pleco - Hikari Algae wafers
Cories - Hikari Sinking Wafers
The other fish - Either Tertamin Tropical Flakes or Bloodworms. Once monthly I give frozen foods.

Well the lentil sized wouldnt have bothered him. Maybe he was just constipated, try some veg in his diet, you can buy veggie wafers, mine love those, flakes wont be much use to him soon, he will need a good pellet, hikari gold, tetra doromin something like that, try tetra prima also, along with some lettuce he might nibble on too. He will grow fast if fed well, so you will need to upgrade before he hits 4", that a lot of fish in a 20g. The bleeding hearts can reach 3-4" fully grown, the angel will need a minimum of a 18" tall tank for the long term also.
