Does anyone know if there is a way to circumvent the 3 letter search restriction? (I bet it is something really simple).

For instance if I want to search for 'ich', it won't let me. I have to search for 'white spot' instead and miss the myriad of posts to do with the subject.

Other searches such as 'fin rot' have caused me frustration as well.

Very annoying!

Cheers

Use google

eg. If you are searching for CO2 you would type "co2 site:fishforums.net" with out the quotes.

I hardly use the search button never fetches anything up you want to know, its useless.
I use the net and find more info that way.

This works well. I have done it before. You get some links that aren't to TFF but you will get a lot of what you are looking for.

Groovy!...Check It Out

I think kev0101 has got the 3 letter restriction thing beat.

Great, just got in from work so I'll give this a go once I've had something to eat!

Not to bore you with details...well ok then I will!

I've been treating for ich for 2 weeks now and not got anywhere with it.

I've removed all carbon from filter

Turned temp up to 29c

re-treated every 3-4days with Interpet No.6 as per the instructions (mixing with warm (hot) water)

It's only the cardinals that are affected and I held it down to about 2 or 3 spots for some time but it suddenly broke out the other day to 4 or 5 spots each on about 4 or 5 fish.

I have this morning done a 40% water change (as some of the spots had fallen off) re-treated and kept the light off all day so we'll see what happens now.

I'm sure I'm doing everything right, the only thing that I haven't tried is a different treatment.

I'm going to get some King British WS treatment and try that after doing a water change to dilute what I have in there at the moment.

That was all the reason for my doing some research as to what else I can do. As I say, it's only the cardinals and touch wood they don't seem to be stressing or suffering at the moment so I'm hoping to come out of this without any losses but the darn thing is soooo persistant.

Thanks for listening

Turn your heater up to 30.
Make sure you have plenty of aeration.
Good luck.
