Hi guys,

I've just bought some of this for both my tanks - it says to use bleach to recharge when necessary!

Question is, what sort of bleach? Surely not Domestos !

Does anyone on here use Purigen, and if so, what do you use to recharge it, and how do you go about it?

Also, I've got Eheim external filters, and have put the bag underneath the blue filter pad in the middle - that okay?

Thanks
Kim :)

I use Purigen in my marine tanks. It is quite easy to recharge. I use a small plastic pail, like kids use at the beach. I add a small amount of Chlorox (bleach) and add water, about 1:10 dilution. I leave the Purigen in it overnight and you can see it turns bright white the next day. I then rinse it thoroughly in water and then add dechlorinator....you can smell the bleach odor disappear. Rinse again and it is recharged. SH

That's great, thanks SH - I assume Chlorox is just a normal household bleach (don't have that brand here in the UK).
