i've just noticed some of my fish are scratching on leaves and wood. yet not one fish has whitespot (ich). added to this, the presence of ich seems unlikely as i've been treating the tank with melafix and pimafix for the past fe days as a congo tetra had some fungus on his lip (it's gone now though). why are they doing this? is it the medication?

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

It could be the med making the flick.
Have you increased aeration in the tank.

117 litres, about 10 small tetras, three small congos, two big congos, three candy striped loaches, 1 big ancistrus, 1 big red finned shark
ammonia and nitrite are 0 and nitrate is <20

The shark really need a bigger tank of 40 gallons

It might just be the med so keep a close eye on them.
It always best to issolate sick fish and treat in a hospital tank.
Also some fish don't tolerate the full dose of melafix to well so keep an eye on them.

none look too sick. its just a few flicks and only today. i'll cut back the dose of melafix.maybe i'll give the shark to my dad to go in his bigger tank.

thanks! :good:
