Sand

I have thought it over, and I now think I will choose sand for my new 55 gallon tank. I am getting it tomorrow, and I need to know how much I need for that size of a tank. And I can buy play sand from Walmart right?

I've heard play sand is ok. Never tried it though. Let me know how you get on if you try it.

55 gallons is about the same size as my tank. I used 50kg and that worked out fine.

Two days ago I changed my tank set-up to sand. From Home Depot I bought a 50lbs bag of white silica sand for $7.49. This was more than enough to give me a 1-2 inch layer of sand.
