sand, stones or both?........for puffers

so which substrate for puffers....i have sand and pea gravel is that ok for puffers?

Any type of freshwater substrate is okay for puffers. It all depends on what species of puffer you have. Personally, I have a rock gravel for my dwarf puffers, but I'm getting sand because IMO, fish like fine gravel and sand more the large substrate.What kind of puffers do you want/have?

Usually sand is recommended seeing as there are a lot of puffers that like to sleep on/burry in the sand. So I'd definatly go for sand if I were you

By the way, I noticed your signature. Do you plan on keeping the puffers in your 20g with those other fish? Or, are you asking for a new substrate becuase you're setting up a new tank?
