You can get a pure white Silica Sand - It looks just like salt - Quite a few places do it, mine came from Shirley Aquatics IIRC

Hi , i appreciate help but was ideally after a golden yellow sand. is this possible ? obviously white will be my next choice though. thank you

no , because doesnt that go really dark when you put it in water >?? the colour i am after is like dried sand colour

yer that looks like what im after. perhaps a bit lighter if there is one but i will have a look at beige sand , thank you

I used a plain old play sand in one of my tanks that looked like this:

I love the way it looks and it's cheap!

play sand from argos is a whitish golden colour. Used to have it in my 33 gal before I upgraded. Now have really fine black gravel.

Thank you every one for your help , do you know if the play sand from argos stays a golden white when put in water ? thanks

yes I used to have it in one of my tanks. Only changed because I was after the 'dark colours to enhance fishes natural colours' look. :)

great , looks like ill be getting that then.. thank you

what size tank you got? its 2.49 a bag and it's reccomended to have some live plants in the tank if you go with play sand, the root growth stops it compacting.
