Sand And Internal Filters

Can you use sand with the juwel internal filter suplied with the 180 or will it just suck up all the sand. im thinking of running 2 filters my 205 and the juwel filter suplied.

Hi,

You shouls only have an inch of sand to prevent gas pockets building up. I have the vision 180 and rio 400 and the fish have at least an inch and half space to get under the filter, the plecs like to hang out upside down under there. The sand will be fine. Just make sure that when you first add it to the tank let it settle before running the filter.
