Hey,

I am looking into adding a true SAE (Siamese Algae eater) into my tank but i also already have one CAE (chinese Algae eater) in there at the moment. Would these two algae eaters get along?

Thanks for any help you can give :)

The notorious CAE, I bought one in error with my first tank and most people on here on seeing it told me to get flushed straight away..

..Had him 2 years now, lol - he's fine, although I wouldn't fancy putting him another one, he is the boss of his tank.

Thanks for the input guys, i went and bought a SAE and they seem fine together.

Personally i've never had any problems with my CAE being aggressive, he has his own cave that he sits inn lol. He chases other fish away but is never harmful towards them :)

When young, the Chinese Algae Eater is fine in a community aquarium keeping your algae down . But when it gets older however it can grow to 10 inches. It will stop eating algae and it will start to defend a territory and continually harass tankmates. It is also know to attach itself to fish sucking the slime coat off of them and making them prone to disease!

I would get rid of it asap.
