Rocks For Tank

can i go in my backyard and just pick up some rocks and boil them to use for my tank? i would definitely like to do this than go out to a fish store and just buy a rock.

i used some rocks from mine and they are ok , obviously this might not be the case for you , however , i would pour boiling water over the rocks and do the vinegar test
