hpw do the ro machienes work i know ther they to help ur water cleaning it and helps with the ph lvls but if you but a ro system is ther anythink else you need to get for it how does it work lol

RO units filter almost everything out of the water giving between 95 and 99% pure water (no chlorine, nitrates, phosphates etc.). To use in FW you need to add back the essential minerals or "cut" it with some tap water.

It s more commonly used in SW to prevent algae blooms and other troubles associated with using tap water.

In other words, unless you're keeping fish that need specific water conditions (such as soft water only species) or your tap water is horrendous, tap water is fine.

yes you would need R0 you could maybe get away with a ph of 7 if drip acclimatised. Also is it true with R0 you only get 20% of the water that goes in comes out as pure R0 because i want an R0 but that would mean huge water bills :S

you may well get even less.... you rRO unit has 2 outputs one that goes to waste (regected water) the other that is pure RO.
the pure ro is a tricle, where as the wate truely flows out.....

You can keep the waste and use it to clean in or else use it on the garden. You can probably use it for FW water changes on all but the most sensitive fish.
