Im thinking of purchasing an RO unit - I currently have a 70G (377L) - and 2 x 150L tanks for freshwater tropical. I have been doing some research on the forum and around the web and have my eye on the RO-MAN 2P-RO-75-DI unit (£64 from osmotics.co.uk). Can anyone tell me if this unit would suffice for approx 20% weekly water changes and what other minerals I would need to add to create the correct balance.

The RO unit you suggest would be fine. You will need to add the following:
General Hardness (GH) This is essentially a measurement of Magnesium and Calcium ions in the water.
Carbonate Hardness (KH) This is a measurement of the waters buffering ability, or its ability to absorb and neutralize acid.

I cut my RO with some tap water to replace these minerals, this is the easiest and cheapest way of doing it. Or if you don't want any tap in there you can use Kents RO-Rite which adds GH and epsom salt will add the KH.
