im about to take all my fish back to the lfs - 2 angles, 6 zebra danios, 1 golden sucking loach and 2 giant danios because im starting again with a bit more care. how do i take them back? what bags should i put them in? i feel a bit embarrased really taking all these back, but it has to be done.

Like you get them from the LFS bagged in the 'fish bags' 1/3 water to 2/3 air.

im taking them back because i want to make over the tank, properly aquascape it, live plants with CO2. i rushed in with this tank and have been putting up with it for 2 years just hanging on.

btw are there special fish bags?

Before taking them back, are you sure your lfs will accept them?

You can redo the tank/substrate and keep the fish if you really wanted?
Or are you wanting new fish too?

the people in the shop are really nice, called reef and river - they genuinally care. however i want new fish to, but i don't know what sort yet. the plants are the priority really. i don't want many fish.

Wow that's a really drastic move! After 2 years as well - I was kind of expecting, sort of a '2 days' kind of response: that I could better understand!

Can't you ask the LFS / someone to look after your fish whilst aqua-scaping??

Andy

PS, can I ask you, what has caused such a dramatic change in what you want from your tank???

its going to take a while - im 16 with money being virtually non-existant - obtaining it takes a while. the reason i want such a dramatic change after 2 years is when i saw the tank in the window of a fish shop in singapore. it was fantastic - lush green carpet, moss on wood - amazing. my aim is to have that kind of look and growth and i need CO2, got that but a lighting upgrade is needed as well as materials. i don't know when i will have the money. im looking at arcadia lights at the moment. money, money, money though

Ah. Gotcha. If I were you, I'd keep the fish you have - they will not distract from a beautiful Aquascape - they will enhance it.

I made the mistake of coming across this web-site:
http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org

Boring start to a web page, but dig a bit deeper and look at the Aquascapes there.

Truely, completely and utterly jaw dropping tanks. AND SOME OF THOSE GUYS PROVIDE A SKETCH OF THE PLANTS AND ARRANGEMENTS THEY HAVE USED.

It is my mission now to get a tank that looks even 1/10th as good as those.

Andy
