I've heard of resun. They look pretty good, and i think im going to get one of thier external filters. Basicly what they do is copy other companys designs and make them cheaper. Does it look the same as this one?
I use them but they are really only of use to move water around an aquarium or pond. They are powerful pumps but the media isnt enough if you use one on its own. They have attachments so if the water is too fast then you can put the spray bar on.
Ive had some of mine for a year and no problems.
You will be cleaning them out a lot as they dont take much to clog and slow down. The sponge isnt very much so its a good idea to have a filter, even on low speed, that has a much bigger sponge for bacteria space.
I have 2 1000's and one small one that i cant remember the size of.
You cant alter the flow and they are fast, so maybe put one on the spray bar but if thats still too fast then put them both on, and maybe one at each end. You will have over 10 times tank turnover which though good, the small sponges may mean more work. Youve said youre prepared for that so fair enough.
What kind of fish you having?
On my 34 gallon tank i have the 1000 using the spray bar, a fluval 3+ and an external, the eheim 2224 for the extra media. That tank is overstocked though.
Let us know how it goes.
