How often do you replace your test kits. I have the API master test kit, and i have been using it for over a year. I know the box has an expiry date on it, but is that a bit like some foods where it also says, "once opened use within xxx time period", or will it be ok until about then.

Any ideas?

I would say use it until it runs out, as long as the chemicals are stored properly I don't see why they would go bad so quickly.

I have heard reports of test kits losing accuracy.. The test kits will last ages if your not testing all of the time. My tank is pretty stable, so I do most of my testing if I notice any changes/problems, or i have changed anything in the tank that might affect the water parameters, such as adding fish, plants, co2 etc. etc.

Any other experiences with test kits anyone??

I've been told you should replace them after 6 months. however i think our kits a bit older than that, we very rarely have to use it though and if we had a problem and got a somewhat suspect result from it we'd replace it and see what else came up.
