Two months ago I added an air pump with an "S'" tube bubbles wall for my tank. Looks real nice but after reading this post

I see that the extra oxygen is helping the algea in my tank get out of control!
Why do I say that? Well my Cryptocoryne Lutea potted aqua plant has green algea all over it! Every single leave is full of the stuff. So based on the post I will be using a 2 hrs lights on, 4 hrs lights off, 4 hrs lights on again for a total of 6 hours.
Now my question is how do I remove the algea from my plant leaves? Today when I did a water change I took the plant out and gently rubbed each plant to get as much algea off of it but there is still a some on it.
ps. I don't want to add any other fish to help so that method is out for me.
Thanks
