ehat about red tail sharks? i thought they were ok?

Red tail sharks are territorial fish and often agressive towards colorful, slower-moving fish. They vary a lot in how agressive they are, but generally speaking they get more agressive as they mature. They have different needs to betta's as well- while red tail sharks like well filtered tanks, bettas prefer tanks with little or no current in them.
If the shark decided to beat up the betta one day, there's no way the betta would be able to out-swim it i'm afraid. So red tail sharks are best put with fast swimming non-shark shaped fish (or one's with similar coloring or patterning) which will stay out of the sharks way  .
