lovely picture, th sky here did exactly the same thing, i wanted to take pic but didnt have cam. I love the way that kind of light makes trees all silhouettee. What is that saying "red sky and night shepherd delight" actually supposed to mean?

Red sky at night shepherds delight
Red sky at morning shepherds warning.

Just means if sky is red at nigh the weather next day should be fine and the other way round if it's red in the morning c..p weather.

Don't blame me though if it pours tomorrow.

It's the bane of living in the countryside, the darn birds wake you up in the morning.

I remember being told a "story" in a pub on the Isle of Wight about a fireman known as Barney, on account of the fact that because there were not enough fires to keep him busy, he'd set fire to barns, hay bales and the like to give him a chance to do something. Apocryphal? Perhaps... but on the infamous Insula Vectis nothing bizarre is impossible.
