Can Red Mangroves by used in discus parameter tanks?

Not 100% sure. I think it would be okay, but I know mangroves normally live in brackish/salt water. Could they grow in freshwater?

if you can get a mangrove that wont get 50 feet tall they will grow in your tank, but not verry long, they need soil or sand to have their roots in to get nutrients.

That too, although I have only seen one large one(s) (across from my canal) and it was very wide, more sore a clump of mangroves. Probably only 15-20 feet tall though. Most I have seen are max 8 feet.
