Did about a 40% water change, ammonia dropped to .25 will test all levels again in the morning.

does the heater need to be that high??

keep testing, maybe 3 times a day, and then do a small water change if needs be,leave an hour between the water change and the test to get a correct reading

you really need to get the nitrtie down..what were the readings this morning? ( i see u appear to have only tested for ammonia)
im afraid you ris losing the fish while ammonia and nitrite are that high, which even tho are relativly low in order on the charts, its still too high :/

What wrong with the heater temp? It's set right in the middle of the dial, which would be medium, I guess. They've always seemed happy at this temp? Should I turn it down?

Here's the new readings. Eveything is exactly the same as the last full testing last night!!

Ph 7.8

Ammonia 1.0

Nitrite .5

Nitrate 40

Why didn't the water change do anything?

Just did a 30-35% water change. I've got to go to work for a couple hours so I won't be able to check the levels again for a bit.

I have done 3 water changes of about 30-40% in the past 12 hours and ammonia and nitrite remain high! Please I need to know if I just keep testing and changing 3 times a day? Should I do more, less? This is the first time I've gone through this...
I know you all must have heard this same story a thousand times over.

Here's the most recent scary readings:

pH 7.8

Ammonia 1.0 (!!)

Nitrite .50

Nitrate 40

By the way, my tap water pH on the low range is 7.6 and on the high range it's 7.4 ?

You should continue to do a lot of water changes each day to try and keep the ammonia levels down. It probably stayed the same because the ammonia levels are so high. The Nitrates and Nitrites are very high also so just keep doing plenty of water changes each day. Also, you could turn the heater down to about 76-78 or so. Frogs usually like
temps of about 76-78 and mollies you shouldn't go up past 82 degrees Fahrenheit. So 76-77 should be good. You don't want the temps to high. I think you meant the high part of your tap water is 7.6 and the low is 7.4.

it's best to do a fishless cycle but since you already have fish in the tank, please read this guide fish in cycle....

I'm using fungus cure at the moment as well...

Meds will usually mess up your tank also. Why are you using Fungus cure since in your first post, you said their was nothing wrong with the fish except for the high levels of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate??

One last thing, when your ph is high then even with less ammonia it becomes very toxic for fish so I can't stress enough how important it is to keep doing plenty of water changes!
