Rattlesnakes

my boyfriend and I go offroading every saturday and this time we saw these two rattlesnakes, sadly one was dead, but the other we moved safely off the road, and we stil have all our bodyparts! Not as evil as people think they are. (but please don't try to move one yourself unless you know what your doing)

Nice pic. Can't say I'm overly fond of rattlers, but I think most snakes are cool. Glad to hear you guys are still all in one piece.

I remember a few years back when we went to Mesa Verde, we saw tons of rattlers and I saw one nab a mouse, it was pretty awesome!

I love snakes! I'm glad you weren't hurt when you moved the rattler.

Well most people just kill them, we also saw one that was smashed on the road. We were very sad when we saw that one. So that's why we moved this one. that would be neat to see one eat!

Saw a huge jet black snake at my buddies house down in maryland this weekend. Went down there for his birthday and when I got there it looks like there was a hose stretching across his front porch but when I got closer it was shiney and then it started to move I never saw the head but the snake must of been 3 or 4 feet long. I have no idea what species it was but I was quite impressed on it's size

well im not a fan of snakes. I knew it wasn't a rattler obv cause o the solid jet black coloring, but I still thought I would share with everyone...

It might have been an indigo black snake. I don't know if their range extends that far north, though. My favorite native species here in FL.

Saw this one the other day, when it gets hot they come down from the hill behind our house. Bad thing is they have been found many times hiding inside the playground equipment outside. I'm worried that a small child who doesn't know any better will stumble upon one and try and handle it and get bitten.
