Fish Fanatic
Hello,
I was looking at my rainbowfish this evening and saw that one of them had a patch of scales missing. Upon further inspection of the other fish I saw that another rainbow had a tattered looking fin. There are I believe 3 males and 3 females which I know is not an ideal ratio (it's ~230l) but I haven't added any more females because I have had some disease problems with my livebearers and although things seem to be getting better over the last couple of months with no one seeming to be sick I am still hesitant to add any more fish. If I am honest, I am about ready to give up on livebearers from a while as I have been having issues ever since I started keeping them around 2 years ago and am hoping to get some more species of rainbowfish once later down the line.
Anyways, it has been this ratio for the entire time I have had them (around 2 years) and while they do sometimes scuffle, I have not seen any injuries until now. Both of the affected individuals are acting completely normal and don't seem to be in any distress so I am hoping this was just a one off. I was just looking for a little advice on if this is due to fighting or if it could be injury due to hardscape. I will attach pictures of the injuries.
