Quick Question

Well, I am planning a new smaller shell-dwelling cichlid tank and I have a simple question. Can malaysian trumpet snails thrive and co-exist in this given environment?

Yeah I guess so, but thats not what I'm getting at. What I'm asking is if the cichlids will try to eat the snails or not.

I have a feeling they may pick at the snails a little bit, as the cichlids breed in snail shells. You can find them for free in some pet stores, as they are considered a pest. Throw a couple in, see if they pick at it. If there are problems, return them or put them in another freshwater tank. Maybe they could be used as a nice little snack
