Alright, I am keeping a puffer a puffer and am sick of having to scrounge around for snails small enough to feed him. So, in turn, I have decided to get a tank and dedicate it to breeding snails for his meals. I have some quick questions though, for one, how big should the tank be(gallons) and will it need a filter? Thanks for the advice in advance.

It's better to have a filter cause then you don't have to do as many water changes everyday. However you could get away with a reptile filter, as you will not need to fill the tank the whole way, as certain snails like to lay their eggs out of the water.
Also I would reccomend going with a 10gallon tank, this way your grow out snails have room to roam. Snails multiply in great quantities and quite quickly. Once they start laying eggs, they keep going and the snails hatch quite fast.

Breeding snails is easier than breeding rabbits. Just put a couple in the tank and add fish flakes. The more you feed them, the faster they will multiply. You will be over run in a very short time.

He should be in puffer heaven then as he will have an all he can eat buffet.
