Quick Question About Gravel

Can you use any type of gravel to go in a tank or only the stuff sold in fish shops which is "fish grade"?

Is there anything bad in normal gravel that can't get washed out? I always find I have to wash "pre-washed" fish grade gravel anyway.

You don't want anything that will change water chemistry - plu syou really don't know what chemicals and pollutants are in the 'ordinary gravel'

9 times out of 10 your odrinary gravel might be fine - but seeing as you buy gravel just once, and the life of all your future tankmates could depend on it - i'd splash out and buy some from a shop!
