Hi

I'm in the process of doing a fishless cycle on my new 16g tank,

its been running for 3 weeks now and over the last few days i've noticed the water starting to turn a white cloudy way, am i right in thinking this is a bacterial bloom and perfectly normal. Is it also normal for the inside of the tank to feel slimey to the touch.

Thanks for helping

All perfectly normal, the white cloud is a bacterial bloom as you suspected, and the slimy layer is a bio-film common in newer tanks.

Thats good

How long does the water usually stay cloudy for, is there anything i should do or just carry on and wait for the cycling to finnish

Most people will recommend waiting till the cycle is complete then do a large water change prior to adding your fish :)
