So the Summer holidays are here and i am left waking up each day with an empty day ahead of me looking at my fish tank, thinking of how i could improve it/renovate it or whatever.. my tank is 100 litres and is VERY heavily planted (being afraid to really chop the plants back in the early days has led to them overrunning the tank) and i have had a few deaths in this roughly year long period (can't think of how they died.. just wake up in the morning to find their mamed carcasess but i dont know if they were attacked or just eated after death) this leads me to have many a question

1- How easy would it be to completely take out all the plants (their roots are fairly deep)
2- How long could they all last in the spare 30 litre tank i have?
i should mention at this point that i have in this tank 4x Harlequins 4x Zebra Danios 1x Bristlenose Plec 2x Fan Shrimp 1x Dwarf Puffer (i know it wasn't him that killed the fish, they died before he came) and 1x German Ram
3- How can i catch this damn puffer? he rarely comes out from the undergrowth and when he does i find him impossible to catch in the net
4- ideally i want to have a kinda rocky, african lake look, would this be possible with this size tank and also what could i do with the fish, i would want to replace them with the right kind of fish, but i don't see it right to kill them just because i dont want them.

Right! i think thats all.. i apologise for the fairly heavy post and any suggestions would be really appreciated

Id go and ask your lfs they may buy the fish from you. For a rocky mbuna tank it should be 3 foot long at least.
Catching fish in a planted tank is a nightmare-I was trying to catch a fish from mine last week and basically ruined the whole tank-id drain most of the water then they will be easier to catch.

Whatever you do, don't kill the fish. As Blue Acara suggested, your lfs may take them off you, if not you could advertise them in the buy and sell section.
Most of your plants should uproot quite easily but depending on how many there are and what they are, they may not last long in your 30L tank.
You also need to check your water stats to see what your water quality is like. This could be why you are losing fish.
