do loaches need to be in groups?
just wondering how everyone has them in groups, but no info on them says they should be...

You don't go into specifics, but many loaches are shoaling fish and should be kept in groups of 3 or more. What did you have in mind?

the more loaches u have the more active they will be and they will swim around the tank scrounging for food

i was thinking of the yoyo loach, i have a 46 gallon, but already plan on keeping about 6 corys. i dont know if 3 more loaches would be to many bottomfeeders

I'd recommend keeping the yoyos in at least a group of three, they are a social fish and they will be much braver with a couple more yoyo's. Combining them with six cories should make for a very active and enjoyable lower part of your tank.

Yes, 3 would be good. As for bottom dwellers, as long as there is enough food reaching them, what you have there is not excessive. Drop a few sinking pellets or wafers in, perhaps just after lights out.
