Ok ive just started running a small quarantine tank, like 6.1 uk gallons (7.33 us gallons), thin layer of sand, some fake plants, cheap 50w heater, cheap canister filter. My question is whats my best bet to develop the bacteria?
My main tank is cycled but i only just got rid of whitespot from it and im still using meds in it to be sure its gone so i dont want to run my filter in there or use filter foam from there to seed my tank. Would i be ok doing fishless cycle with ammonia in the little tank like i did in the big one? would it be quicker due to its tiny size or does it take the same ammount of time irrelevant of size? my 27.5 uk gallon tank took about 12 days.
