Well... i've been thinking about getting one of these things as it may result in a dryer and cleaner carpet in the long run, and me having more chance of being in the missus good books. But I have just a few questions, some of which may be in the archive, but not all..

1. so you add dechlorinator into the tank when you use the syphon to fill the tank.. do you put in the amount of dechlorinator needed for the additional water, or due to the fact that the dechlorinator is going to be spread around the whole tank should you add a little more, or enough for a whole tank. (this may have been answered before.. although with some of the dechlorinators its so concentrated that about 3-4 would do the whole tank anyway.

2. Is my missus going to end up with fish poop scattered and spattered around the kitchen sink (most convenient sink).. i know you can clean it.. but fish poop and food. hmm.

3. What attachments do you get. Do they fit onto a kitchen mixer tank?

4. is £39.99 from Here a good deal?

Cheers

Have a look in the DIY thread about making your own Python. We made one and it works. Ours also goes down the kitchen sink and no probs so far. It's less messy than tipping a bucket of fish poo down the sink!

i've heard this said both ways, personally i'd just add as much as you need to dechlorinate the water your adding.

:)

we quite fancy getting one of these too. would make life easier for sure.

don't know the answers to other questions but one word of advice, check what shape your mixer tap is first. I've got hose pipe attachment things that are meant to go onto them but cos the spout is oval not round they don't hold on properly so you can't get them to work. Just a word of warning.

I currently take it outside to the drain.. poop free solution. As for the DIY.. im sooo lazy. I will have to think about that. thanks.

we put it down the loo or outside, don't wanna put it down the sink for hygiene and as we always suck up some sand that could clog your drains.

From a missus's viewpoint- I'm sorry but unless your going to clean it up with bleach and all that right away, then no it does not go in the kitchen sink. The mister and I have gone rounds about that- later on in the day there would be gravel or leaves in the sink.... SICK. But, I am also aware that it can easily happen when I'm not here haha! Good luck!

Aha.. you have confirmed my fears.. You may have just finally convinced me to get round to fixing the other downstairs taps..
