Hi,

I moved house about a month ago and I've only just moved my fish tank, so they have been a little neglected recently - been stopping in once a week and doing a little work on the tank but not as much as usual.

Anyway, got them to the new place on Friday evening and had a good look at them today and I think something may be wrong with at least one of them, if not more. I did notice a little finrot on the fish before I moved but didn't think too much of it.

Move went fine, no fish lost - filter was in tank water for the move, few L of old water was put in the new setup.

Tank size: 60cm x 30cm x 30cm (50ish L)
pH: ~8.4
ammonia: 0ppm
nitrite: 0ppm
nitrate: ~20-40ppm
kH: V. High
gH: V. High
tank temp: 26*c

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior):

Main fish in question is a Glowlight Tetra and I've witnessed the following:

Bloated
Inflamed Gills
Gills look abnormal (don't sit straight with body of fish)
Heavy Breathing
Fin Rot (V. slight)
Fish doesn't seem to 'sit' quite right in the water, possibly a little big wonky (not at 90* to the surface?) but that may just be me?

On the PLUS points;

Swimming fine from what I can tell.
NOT isolated/avoiding fish
Doesn't appear to be stressed
Very colourful (espically seeing as it was only just moved!)

Volume and Frequency of water changes:

Very bad recently as I've been moving house, so they have been a little neglected :(

Approx 25% change every ~2 weeks over the last 4-6 weeks

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank:

Fluval U3 filter with standard media - bacteria colony is 6-12 months old.
Treated with eSHa 2000 (yesterday & today) for finrot (dose as specified on instructions)

Tank inhabitants:

14 Glowlight Tetra
3 Panda Cory
3 Otto Catfish

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):

None.

Exposure to chemicals:

eSHa 2000 (see above)

Digital photo (include if possible):

Unable at the moment, will see if I can get one in due course though - Only other point I can think of is they have been fed less recently (as I haven't been around) about once a week.

Very grateful for any help on this!

Thanks,

Sean

Some other details as well;

Airstone in tank, over-rated for the tank size so plently of o2 in there.

Fairly well planted (though plants need some looking after, as said, not been around recently!)

Fish is eating well too - seen him scoffing earlier

If its a 50 litre tank your tanks overstocked.
Which test kit are you using?

A good gravel vac and water change.

Any signs of flicking and rubbing, darting, erratic swimming.
Does the fish swim in a jerky movement.

Added esha which covers bacterial infections.
Also feed some shelled peas.

Any red streaking, red patches, red sores, or bleeding beneath the skin, red blood spots.

Thanks for feedback Wilder;

Think it's more like 55L but yeah, can't really answer that just take your word, however I would say that I have sought advice from this forum regarding everything I've done since I decided to take up fishkeeping so my stocking has been confirmed my multiple members on this forum.

I'm using the API Liquid test kit

Obviously just moved so did a good gravel (actually using quartz sand) vac when I emptied the tank and a 90-95% water change when I re-filled it. Will do a smaller change tomorrow (20% ish)

Some signs of erratic swimming and jerky movement, though as they've just been moved that could possibly be down to that?

Maybe a stupid question but, how do I go about feeding peas? (got some frozen ones... put in hot water and take the shell off - drop in the tank?)

I have noticed what appears to be an orange line OUTSIDE of a couple of the glowlight's bodies - same colour and position as their regular strip so it might just be their colour changes during the move.

Gills look inflamed and redder than usual.

Can't see any spots of bleeding under the skin.

Many Thanks!

Sean
