I just bought an Eheim 2078 pro 3e external filter, and am having trouble getting it flowing.
It's a replacement for a crappy fluval 305 on my 240 litre tank.
The filter is struggling to get the water from my tank, up and over the intake (suction side) and down the hose into the canister. It gets almost to the top of the intake, then stops sucking the water, and repeats the whole prosess again and again. I let it do this for about 15 mins each time as i'm worried about burning the motor out. Should i leave it try longer? I'm getting nowhere. I tried priming it via the button the the filter head, then tried filling the canister by hand, but still not getting the water sucked over the intake by the filter.
I hope you can help as its driving me crazy lol.
