I have 3 pregnant female platys with others in a 10 gal. tank. The day before yesterday, i put one of the famales in a breeding net with a plant for shelter. Which i thought would provide coverage for the new born fry and would reduce stress for the mommy. And making this easier to catch the fry instead of searching for them. (Last time i had only one fry, when the mother was in the tank with the rest. So sad... figuring what happened to the rest of the fry. Don't wanna go through that sadness again.) Since reading about the breeding nets and such, Do u think i should just release her back into the tank with the others, and risk losing some and searching for fry, or just leave her there, thinking if i move her it will produce more stress and the loss of all the babies? Or to just leave her there seeing what will happen since her belly is still quite full.. i still see black dots in her stomache, and she doesn't seem stressed, i don't think. Any ideas what i should do?
Oh i also have a male platy that chases the 3 pregnant females and pokes their bellys. He also does this to the other one male platy. Is this aggressiveness over territory or does he just not like them? .. should i isolate him until the babies are born? I don't want the mommies to abort their pregnancy.
