pregnant guppies

I have 2 female guppies who appear to be pregnant. They both have dark gravid spots and I have bought another tank and put them into it in a breeding tank. They are the only 2 fish in the tank as I was going to keep it for the babies.

How long till the babies come? Are the females ok being stuck in a breeding tank for a length of time?

Will the mothers still eat the babies even when they are in breeding tank or do they all fall through?

Babies are being born at the moment but when I put the light on I saw 2 being gobbled up. I have now put the light off to see if it helps. How long till they stop giving birth and how do I know when they are finished?

Sorry lindac - I've never breed them but am sure someone will be along soon who can help
