Pregnant Cherry Barb

anyone know how long a cherry is pregnant before it gives birth.
she has got quite big over the last few days,ijust wondered if they need special conditions to give birth.Or they just
{not being crude] let go!
Will it die if it hasnt got the right enviroment,because i lost one before a couple of months ago that was pregnant.
i dont want to have any more fish in my tank,its not big enough.
chemically my tank is spot on,everything is perfect,but i hate to admit it i have artificial plants.
she seems fine at the moment i dont want to loose another of my girls,lovely fish, a real joy to keep.

cherry barbs are egg scatterers so they dont give birth to fish,
she could be full of eggs and when time is right she will lay them but most likely eat them all,
or could be dropsy?

not 100% sure so look for more advice

As stated cherry barbs are egg layers so she's not pregnant but may be gravid. Do you have any males?

If you lost a fish recently that looked pregnant then I would be concerned that it is indeed dropsy.
