Hi all,
I am 12 and i saw a few of you were talking about Practical fishkeeping magazine. I searched on google for it and it sound really good but i have a few questions.
1)If you subcribe they say they send you a free 150 Watt heater is theis true and is it anygood.
2)is £10 somthing a resonable price for a fishkeeping magazine quartily.
3)How often is it publishesInterpet IPF Duo 2 Internal Filter
4)They are offering a free gift if you subscribe online which is best Interpet IPF Duo 2 Internal Filter or Setting up a Tropical Aquarium & Focus on Aquarium Fish Books
5) is the filter any good??

Wouldn't know about the filter but you can never have enough books!!!

PFK is a good mag Fishy - lots of interesting articles. If you don't want to subscribe, you could always read shorter versions of their articles online.

£10 per quarter is a decent price and nice to have it delivered cos I never manage to find one in the stores near me, so I might consider it too!

If you subribe online, do you get the heater and the filter?

I used to have an IPF Duo 2 but it was a pain in the backside. Half sponge and half carbon in this little canister thingie, it kept blocking due to airbubbles so every 5 minutes you had to tilt it slightly in the water to unblock it. Plus, I've heard a few people say it ate their fish, although I never experienced that problem with it. Probably cos it didn't work most of the time.

Interpet may have sorted that problem now though.

If you are going to subscribe anyways, a free filter is still a nice bonus and you can use it as a spare when you're desperate.

You might want to do a search and read a review on the books before going for them though. I've bought some books that I thought would be great, but everyone just laughs when I tell them what the books suggested. )

I get this on subscription, and consider it good value .also you do get the free gift of your choice,it comes a bit later then the first magazine.
Personly I think i would go for the Heater or the Book,both very handythings to have.

you get the heater anyway but you get to choose aswell for the books or filtwer.I think i will go for the books.

I subscribed as a christmas present to myself. i got the books, they are really good quality. I cant wait for my mag to come every month. In fact i may just go read the Feb issue which came today!

Great magazine.

Rubbish filter. They may aswell be giving you a powerhead, because i wouldnt use a PF2 as a filter because they are so hard to service easily.
