Powerheads Ok With Sand?

Hi guys
 
Going to change from gravel to sand today and forgot to ask...are my powerheads ok with the sand?
They won't blow the sand all over the tank will they?
I've got them at the top of the tank either end and not pointing directly down so i think they should be ok, just need a second opinion!

If they aren't pointing down I would assume that they should be ok

You just have to adjust it until you find the right angle so that it doesn't blow the sand everywhere.  It takes a bit of time to get it just right, but it can work.  It can't be too low, so that you don't suck up sand from the bottom, and it can't point down too much or it will cut a hole in the sand elsewhere....  
 
 
Of course, if you've seen one of my tanks recently, you'd see that these types of things happen even without a powerhead - my BN has been rearranging my sand substrate over the past few days.  I keep smoothing it out, and he keeps changing it back.  I think I'm going to leave it like he wants it, since that's the only home he has.
