Power Outage

what would guys do if you had a power outage, what methods can you take to keep your fish alive??

For short term power outages, you can get UPS system, powered by marine batteries. Otherwise, a generator would be better. You can run other equipment, such as refridgerators, sump pumps (no flooded basements), etc.

Im not 100% and I'm sure someone can give a better answer, But I believe if you can , increase your room temperature so the tank doesnt drop too much (depending on where you live) - Also I recall someone suggesting you put your filter media into some sort of porous bag in the tank, and then ocasionally stir the water to pass it through the media ?
