God forbid we have one but what are your surviving methods if you where to have one.

Just wondered , and tips if it ever happened

I had a 15 Hour one last month .I covered the tanks with newspaper and blankets.
When i phoned the Electricity company and said i was worried about my fish, someone got back to me and sugested i filled any plastic drink bottles i had with hot water.
This worked brilliantly ,when the power came back on water in one tank was 73, and 76 in the other. It was hard work though but the fish were happy and i didn't lose any.
:santa: :santa: :santa:

The bottles with hot water in is a great idea, also a battery operated air-pump is a handy item.

We lost a Leopoldi and a motoro stingray, a Red Arowana and 2 Siamese Tigers once when we had a power out, it wasnt from the temp, it was from the lack of DO from having big oxygen hungry fish, and no water turnover, we keep a couple of battery powered air pumps with airstones just in case

It was heartbreaking, cost was secondary to see a 2ft Aro and a totally gorgeous Leo dead when we came down was gutting.

But you do learn
