u know when u get a plant for ur tank......n its potted......do u leave it in the pot? and when its got that green stuff round it...do u leave that on?

I'm not sure about the green stuff you are talking about...but yes, you do leave the pot on. You plant it in gravel as hight as the rim of the pot. When you first get it, be sure to give it some plant food. :)

Tek,

If you are reffering to the little plastic thing they call pots, yes remove it and pull the green stuff off as it will inhibit root growth.

Hmm, thats funny, I heard different. Maybe it depends on the pot? Some of the pots have large holes in the sides so they can root out. Maybe some dont?

I put all my plants in pots, and if i buy them ready potted i leave the mineral wool on as it contains a source of food (or so im told).Leaving them in the pots is a must if you keep larger fish or ones that like to dig.If the plants grow large you will have to increase the size of the pot as they grow much like you do houseplants.

i have had a plant for 4 months now and it was all right in the beginning but now it seems like its dieing every day i have to take out a few leaves but the fish r always pecking at them so maybe thats why!?!

I have bought a few plants that were in pots. I took them out of the pots. They have all been doing great for over 2 years now.
