potted plants out of water

i was wondering if anybody knows if potted plants will die if you let them grow out of the top of the water? i wanna keep one in my beta bowl, and ive had one in there nad its starting to grow out of it. the pot is on the bottom. and i dont know much about potted plants cuz i keep all rooted plants

No they should do fine they will grow to the top and then they may spread over the surface of the water at the top, you could always do a bit of pruning on them .

i dont remember but it is a lighter green, and it looks like it would have thorns on it, well the leaves have points on them and .. yeah lol
