Hey to all but calling all ray keepers, need some advice, never kept a ray before but I have the chance to keep this species. I am fairly keen to keep this but wondered if my tank would be suitable, I have been told that my set up would be ok and that this species only grow to about 12" (disc size). I have a 4'x2'x2' tank been running for a year with one oscar and a ebjd cichlid. I will be changing my gravel for sand also.

I am only slightly concerned about the info given to me because a few websites have sugested a bigger size tank and the fact that they can grow to 16"

Any advice on this species would be very helpful thanks

You'll struggle to get Hystrix and Scobina which both stay small, retic rays are more readibly available but are harder to get feeding.
You'll need a larger tank to keep rays some a bit wider ideally and a little longer. i have 2 4-6 inch rays in my 4x2x2 atm and they dont have tonnes of room to get about so god knows what fully grown ones will look like, mine are being moved to a larger tank once theyre a little bigger.
